Hi wayne
Here is the responseIn my work as a geologist (and play as an avid 4x4 camper and off roader) I require real tools, bullet proof equipment and enough capacity to complete jobs in short order.Having tried, tested and discarded most of the common place air compressors, including famous trade names, I was very fortunate to come across Wayne's "Serious Air". Intrigued by the name and needing a high capacity electric (not motor mounted) air compressor I contacted Wayne (in Gidgegannup WA) about his unit.I am not prone to procrastination and once I saw the quality of build, ease of installation and efficient operation I purchased a Serious Air compressor along with all the hoses and fittings. I did not need the hoses or fittings but they are very comprehensive for anyone not doing a custom install.
I have a very serious off road camper van (motor home) - serving as my rig site work office and accommodation. As the the vehicle is used at oil rig sites, it must comply with stringent rig site safety requirements and hence nothing on it is sub standard or flimsy. The Serious Air Compressor is purpose mounted between the Mitsubishi cab and the "house" unit camper body. It is exposed to hot engine air and road grime and hazardous environments at the rig. The unit is fitted with a 50 litre air tank between the chassis rails that delivers high pressure air to four bellows airbags on each corner for levelling and cornering stability and two truck type air suspension load carrying units at the rear. These are individually controlled from inside the cab.The "super Single" tyre and wheel conversions of the truck (now licensed as a motor home) require up to 90psi inflation and the serious air unit has no trouble inflating these tyres to their recommended pressures in quick order. The compressor and tank are regulated by the usual pressure control and cut-off solenoids that are set with maximum (120psi) off settings with "quick connect air off takes left - right and rear.
I have had no problems with the unit, it functions brilliantly and has lived up to its design and capabilities. Over time, the air compressor "just does its job" and I have no hesitation to recommend the same unit to anyone contemplating a quality setup.
I give permission to Wayne Thomson to publish this testimonial.
